WE ARE FILLING CLASSROOMS FOR NEXT YEAR

NOW!!!!!!!

Ross Co. CAC Head Start is offering a new classroom option for children 3 to 5 years old. The classroom will be located at the Ross County/Ohio University Chillicothe Child Development Center. The center is located on the Ohio University Campus where many of our other Head Start classrooms are located.

        The specifications are as follows:

¨ Parent transportation is required

¨ Class time is Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm with extended hours, 6am to 6pm, possible for working parents

¨ This option is partially funded by Job and Family Services. An additional JFS application may need to be submitted.

Space is limited. Contact Roxanne Poe immediately if you have any questions or are interested in enrolling your child in this classroom. This option is available to children already enrolled in Head Start as well as those on the waiting list.

Thanks to ARRA funds, six Ross County Head Start classrooms will have smart boards/computers installed before the students return. Smart boards improve teaching and learning in many different ways. They are great for demonstrations, they accommodate different learning styles and they are interactive. Smart boards make subjects come alive, capture the attention of learners, and encourage the involvement of learners.  We are very excited about the learning opportunities this high tech equipment will provide our children.

Sharon McComas, Head Start teacher at OU-C Child Development Center, graduated from the Appalachian leadership Academy in August 2009. Congratulations, Sharon!
